“I received a grant where I took a bunch of city high schoolers (who I’ve been training in the ways of nature for almost a year) to an inner city elementary school.  There they showed how nature was abounding all around.  But that’s not the point of my writing you.  I put into a large bag a bunch of nature stuff to show everyone, and at the last minute I put in the Crow Medicine Shield that you made for me.  I showed a lot of the stuff in the bag, when one of the children caught a glimpse of your shield:
‘What that?’
‘It looks like an Indian made it.’
As I lifted it out of the bag, everyone oohed at how beautiful the shield was, and then the bird’s shoulder with feathers appeared.  The room of 4th grade inner city kids went silent.  They knew something was up.  You could feel the awe.  One voice asked where I had gotten it.  Another student answered, ‘From one of those Indian Medicine Men – where do you think he got it?’
I answered, without thought, ‘It was a Medicine Woman, but I call her a Shaman.’”   - Dave W., Naturalist & Educator

Pricing:  Sliding scale $50.00/hr - $75.00/hr.

As with art, my psycho-spiritual consulting services hold the significance of the unified archetype of the Trickster-Shaman, play and soul.  Through the two combined, dis-ease begins to loosen and find its way to wholeness.  My specializations are in the mytho-poetic strivings of each person’s soul, assisting in the cultivation of what Carl Jung has called one’s “personal myth”.  I help navigate the seas of psyche especially during transitional times (birthing, adolescence, mid-life, divorce, dying, etc.) – life is enfolded in continual processes of renewal.  Additionally, I work with transitions of body be it size or gender and with persons finding their way back to their true calling.

Testimonials:

“Yes, Mary, live art.  You are not just not dead yet, but alive over and over.  I can imagine you resuscitating gasping artists.  Your hospice work is
with those of us who have lost our way and not yet learned how to grieve the loss so we can get back to doing what our souls know we must: keep
the imaginal alive and sacred. That’s the counseling you’ll be doing in some form or other. It was such a treat to sit with you making art....  I haven’t had a discussion so stimulating for a long time.  I danced away feeling I had found lost treasure.  Thank you.  I love the way your mind works.  It’s open and spacious.  There was space for me to hear myself think and be spontaneous.”
